Payment of annual fees is a condition of maintaining certification. Fees are due in the fourth quarter of a calendar year in advance of the upcoming year.
Diplomates are sent several notices of payment beginning in September. Annual fees are also posted on the ABIH web site where Diplomates may pay online.
Fees must be postmarked or received at ABIH by the due date. If not paid on time, the Diplomate will owe an additional late fee and will be classifed as "not in good standing" with ABIH. The Diplomate will also have reduced functionality on the ABIH private web site.
|Process||When a Diplomate fails to maintain their certification, ABIH sends a written notice of expiration to the person’s current postal mailing address. ABIH publishes the names of persons whose certification has expired or has been revoked.|
|Failure to Pay
||If fees are unpaid for 2 years, the Diplomate will be subject to decertification in the 3rd year.|
Annual fees are non-refundable.
Each year, ABIH evaluates the need for a fee increase. Annual fee increases are set primarily based on an annual cost of living adjustment but additional costs may be factored in each year.
