ABIH^® respects the privacy of its site visitors and does not collect any personal information through the web site without the knowledge of the visitor. When a visitor arrives at the our site, our web server collects the IP address, operating system and browser software used. We also collect information about which pages they visit to help us evaluate the effectiveness of various parts of the site.

We collect the e-mail addresses of those who communicate with us via e-mail, aggregate information on what pages visitors access or visit, information volunteered by the visitor, such as opinion polls and roster updates.

The information we collect is used by us to contact site visitors to answer their questions, and, as appropriate, send our newsletter and pertinent mailings, and update our roster.

From time to time, we make the contact information of diplomates available to other reputable organizations whose products or services relate to the educational interests of industrial hygienists, such as AIHA, ACGIH and other course and materials providers. Our agreements do not permit those organizations to further distribute this information.

In our roster pages, we provide non-diplomate site visitors with access to general information (e.g., name, city, state, country, and certificate status/numbers) that we maintain about diplomates to verify their certified status and good dues standing. If a diplomate had indicated they are a consultant, then the public roster provides an address as well.

Diplomate visitors may access more complete information about themselves and other diplomates, including full address, employer, e-mail address, and telephone and FAX numbers, similar to the printed roster.

From time to time, we may use contact information for new, unanticipated uses not previously disclosed in our privacy notice. If our information practices change at some time in the future, we will post the policy changes to our web site to notify you of these changes and provide you with the ability to opt out of these new uses. If you are concerned about how your information is used, you should check back at our web site periodically.

We offer diplomates the ability to have inaccuracies corrected in contact information. They may check the information using their access to the roster search.They can have this information corrected with the address update page or by visiting us at our "contact us" page. Others may contact us to obtain a copy of the contact information we have on file.

We have appropriate security measures in place in our physical facilities to protect against the loss, misuse or alteration of information that we have collected from you at our site.
